Itinerary
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, meet & greet by your driver guide, and then transfer to accommodation.
Dinner and Overnight at Airport Link Guest House (Full Board).
After breakfast, proceed for the drive to Lake Mburo National Park via the Equator line, where we will make a stopover for a cup of coffee and a photographic opportunity. This park has varied habitats from open Acacia woodlands to several papyrus-lined lakes and swamps. We will arrive late afternoon and start exploring this National Park, where we will be covering several different habitats.
Look out for animals like the gorgeous Eland, Zebra, Impala, Buffalo, Reedbuck, Topi, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Hippos, Oribi, Grey duiker, and others.
Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock (Full board).
Early morning game drive before we continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park, which is named after Queen Elizabeth, who visited it in 1954, is the second largest national park in Uganda, and ranks highest with respect to overall diversity, with a bird species list exceeding 600.
The park has a mosaic of habitats from the moist forest at Imaramagambo to wild savannah, excellent for game like Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Hyenas, Ugandan Kobs, Side-striped jackals, Baboons, Giant forest hogs, just to mention a few.
Dinner and Overnight at Bush Lodge (Full Board).
After Breakfast and with packed lunches, head out for a safari looking out for a game like Uganda Kob, Bushbuck, Defassa Waterbuck, Buffaloes, Elephants, Warthog, when lucky, a leopard, spotted Hyena among others. Have Lunch and then an afternoon 2-hour boat ride on the Kazinga Channel.
Dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge. (Full Board).
In the morning, drive to Volcanoes National Park, a scenic drive through terraced hills of Uganda to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
Dinner and Overnight at Le Bambou Lodge (Full Board).
Today, you will either go for golden monkey tracking or go for the Dian Fossey hike at Karisoke Research Centre, where Dian, an American anthropologist, spent years researching and conserving the gorillas before she was killed and buried next to Digit, a silverback gorilla.
Have lunch at your lodge late in the afternoon if still energetic, go for a nature walk near the Volcanoes National Park, or visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village.
Dinner and Overnight at Le Bambou Lodge (Full Board)
In the morning, head out on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park, arriving early for lunch at Akagera Game Lodge. After lunch, go for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema and expect to see hippos, crocodiles, and lots of water birds.
Dinner and Overnight at Ruzizi Tented Camp/Akagera Game Lodge
Early morning and with a packed lunch, you will go for a game drive up to the northern part of the park to catch up with early risers before they go into hiding. You will have a chance to see lions, antelopes, giraffes, bushbucks, among others. (Akagera NP is home to the Big Five).
Dinner and Overnight: Ruzizi Tented Camp/Akagera Game Lodge
After breakfast road transfer to Kigali, and proceed to the airport to catch a flight.
