Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Tangire National Park.

Itinerary

Day 01 :
Arrival

Arrival in Arusha and transfer to your accommodation.

Dinner and Overnight at  Korona Villa ( Full Board)

Day 02 :
Bird Arusha National Park

Breakfast, then we bird around the lodge, and species to be seen include Fire Finches, Variable Sunbirds, and Bulbuls, among others. We will then drive to Arusha National Park where we will spend the whole day game viewing and visiting various crater lakes.

Look out for birds like the Maccoa Ducks, Egyptian Geese, Hottentot Teals, Comb Ducks, and many more waders. The forest surrounding the Ngurudoto crater may reward us with Trogons, Orange-bellied Parrots, Silvery-cheeked Hornbills, and Hurtlurb’s Turaco. Mammals expected include Elephants, Bushbucks, Hippos, and Buffalo.

Day 03 :
Bird Northern Part of Arusha National Park

Today we head to bird the plains north of Arusha town, looking out for dry country species, then later transfer to the Lake Manyara area for an overnight.

Day 04 :
Lake Manyara National Park Excursion

Today we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park with your picnic lunch. This National Park has a rich ecosystem composed of an underground water forest, open savannah, of course, the lake itself, all being excellent for both big game and more than 400 species of birds.

The Park supports a large array of water birds like Pelicans. When the water level is right, thousands of pink-hued flamingos flock to the lake to breed and feed. Other. More than 50 birds of prey have been recorded including the Crowned Eagle and African Hawk Eagle.

Look out for mammals like Elephants, Water Buffaloes, Zebras, Wildebeests, and the World’s largest concentration of Baboons.

Day 05 :
Second Day at Lake Manyara National Park

Today we will have the opportunity to fill in the gaps that we will have missed the previous day.

Day 06 :
AM Birding and Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

Breakfast at leisure, morning birding on the lake shores, and then head to Ngorongoro. Listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, the incomparable Ngorongoro crater  is the world’s largest “caldera.”

A Caldera is the broad, crater-like basin of a volcano formed by the collapse of the central cone. Dominated by cliffs standing some 600 meters high and presenting a sheer drop down to a wide-open space of 264 square km, the crater is one of the most amazing sights seen anywhere.

The Crater is home to over 25,000 mammals, almost half of which are Zebras and Wildebeests. Other mammals include Gazelles, Elands, Hartebeests, Wart Hogs, Lions, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Leopards.

After exploring the crater floor, we will ascend to our beautifully located Sopa Lodge with breathtaking views.

Dinner and Overnight at Tangire Tented Camp ( Full Board).

Day 07 :
Transfer to Tarangire National Park.

Today we transfer to Tarangire Park, an excellent site for both birds and mammals, especially the endemic Rufous-tailed Weaver and Ashy Starling, plus the special Yellow-collared Lovebird.

This National park gets its name from the river that threads its way through the reserve and is famous for its dense wildlife population.

Day 08 :
Explore Tangire National Park in the AM & PM

We will spend the whole day exploring different habitats of Tangire with a lunch break and later retire to our tented camp for an overnight.

Day 09 :
Departure

Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for your departure flight back home.
