Johnnie Kamugisha
Tour Leader
Johnnie loved nature since childhood and traveled with his Dad during school holidays, which helped him to learn and master a lot about Uganda and learnt how to drive at a very young age because at 8 he would drive a truck (Lorry), and so you are safe in his hands.
He has served as a founder member and leader in many tourism bodies like the Uganda Safari Guides Association (USAGA), Uganda Bird Guides Club, and many more.
Johnnie is open-minded, creative, friendly, and a resourceful person with a sound and optimistic outlook on all things in life. He possesses an excellent ability to motivate others, coupled with the ability to communicate comfortably at all levels since he speaks 10 local languages, therefore ensuring an excellent working environment for all the people he works with, which creates an environment to perform at their best.
Johnnie has written an “Introduction to Butterflies of Uganda” book; Has written a 20-page practical book for new guides, another is in the pipeline, and is a trained trainer from South Africa and has trained several others in the same industry to build a firm base for the industry for more years to come.
